2 exercises for changing from 8th note hi hats to 16th note hi hats in a drum groove

These 2 exercises are for practicing 8th notes to 16th notes subdivision changes on the hi hat.

Changing subdivisions on the hi hat can inject pace into a song or groove without changing the main back beat etc. This can be a hard concept to master and execute with perfect timing.

The 8th notes should be played with your leading hand, and the 16th note groove with alternate hands. The leading hand then moves over to play the snare. Right handed drummers will play the snares with their right hands on the 16th note hi hat parts (these snares will have no hi hat with them).
